    Indeed. That would be a life altering experience, traveling through a ghosttown like that. Very sad...

  6. I used to joke about never forgetting our wedding anniversary since there'd always be follow-up stories to Chernobyl (we were married April 26, 1986 - we of course didn't learn about the accident until several days later). My wife didn't think it was very funny, so I stopped years ago.

    Those are certainly some haunting images, almost 20 years later.
