Motobecane Legacy Pro 2004.

I bought a Century Pro from them earlier this year. I was pretty satisfied with them. Had a few questions and, for the most part, they were pretty good at answering my emails.

The bike arrived in good shape, though my LBS (Performance Bike in Baltimore) found a problem with the headset which they took care of through Cane Creek.

The bike is a dream! (For me, anyway!)

The Legacy Pro looks like a real good deal to me. Carbon fork, full ultegra, Ritchey Pro wheelset. Steel frame plue the carbon fork shoud give you a pretty nice ride.

Probably off topic. Motobecane conjures images of Luis Ocana battling it out w/ Eddie Merckx on a specially made Titanium bike on selected mountain passes of the Tour de France. Titanium as bike material in those days was very rare and there was Motobecane doing it.

I took the plunge! Bought the 04 Legacy Pro. You cannot beat the price ... basically 1 grand for a full Ultegra bike. I am starting out riding again after many years .... I would probably be ok (at my fitness level) with much less of a bike. I won't be racing anytime soon, hence my decision to buy the Pro. Frame seems to have adequate finish and fit. Test ride seemed comfortable. The low price allows me to purchase the other items (shoes, clothing and the like) for riding.

You always worry about paying for what you get.
Time will tell

I am thinking along the same lines, are you happy with the bike?

I must admit that I've not heard of a 7005/carbon mix in a bike, but Motobecane seems to be using it. Anyone know what advantages it gives?
