things you put into your cart. This reduces the amount of time it has
to warm up before you get it home and into the fridge.

They put the milk in the back of the store so that you will need to go through
all the other stuff and pick out things that are not on your shopping list.
Actually the fresh food is on the sides and back of the store (veggies and
fruit, meat, dairy, etc. So to get fresh food you have to work the perimeter of
the store.

This is also true. However, in my local stores, all the frozen and
refrigerated stuff is at the back of the store.

Most of those small local stores have all the refrigerated cabinets
along the walls, which makes sense from an organizational point of
view. You do have to walk past other stuff to get to the milk, but
not always very much stuff.
