Although IMDb glows over the film, I remember thinking it would NEVER
end. Good Fellas was three hours, but it seemed like SECONDS! This
thing was three hours and seemed twice as long. Blarrgh!

I loved Goodfellas; Joe Pecci is a great performer. In fact I like all
Mafia movies!

Yeah, a good Mafia movie is a very good thing. 🙂 And Pesci is
fantastic. I love him as the kickass s.o.b. in Goodfellas, but he has
great comedic chops as well. If you haven't rented it or seen it yet...

I must of looked at it ten different times. It was a desperation rent,
just couldn't find anything else. Wish I hadn't. Think I even paid a
late fee for it. Now that has to burn you. Paying extra for a movie that
wasn't good enough to finish.

"Lost In Translation" was a terrific movie, I thought. Two other
little-known, relatively recent movies I also thought excellent:
"Second-Hand Lions" and "The House of Sand and Fog."

I wasn't crazy about LIT, but House was fantastic. What an incredible
tragedy. Amazing cast. I watched it on DVD and really enjoyed the
director's commentary as well as the other extras. The boy who played
the son, iirc, had no acting experience whatsoever. And, yeah, like
flying monkeys (but for entirely different reasons), who can argue with
Jennifer Connelly?

Omigod. I saw that steaming, boring turd of a movie as well. I knew
I was in trouble when my date and I seated ourselves in a nearly empty
theater in its second week of release. Seems word spread real fast
that this was a "critics movie". Boring indeed. Longest movie
watching experience of my life, but I finished it, dammit.

Another truly terrible movie was Mad Magazine's "Up the Academy". It
was so bad, the magazing ran an official apology for it.
