Most comfortable road pedal

They're all pretty painful actually, unless you're wearing a shoe that goes with them.

How many people do you think have ridden all three pedals to give you good advice? Not trying to be an ass or anything, but the way your post is set up the only answer you will get is which pedal is most popular not most comfortable. I like Campy Pedals! 😄

Agree, but I answered for what works for me: Speedplay's Zeros. BEWARE, Speedplay TI it's only for riders under 85 Kilos (about 170 lbs), I'm under 80 K, but just in case my body decides to gain any weight, I got the Stainless (42 gr. heavier than the Ti, $90.00 less than the TI)

For comfort I think the shoe is more improtant the pedal.

I like Speedplay and a Sidi shoe.

Absolutely. It's best to have the pressure spread over more area with a well-designed pedal, but if the shoes hurt or your feet swell too much in them, a great pedal/cleat system won't do much for that.

Campy, Look, ShimaNO, Speedplay, Time - all good, it just depends on what works best for you. Like any other contact point with the bike, (saddle or handlebar), personal fit is the big thing.

I'm still using my old CX pedals - Time ATAC's - on my roadie because they work well for me. Do you think I care if the 'roadie snobs' scoff at them? HA! As if. :p

Eventually, I might try a pair of Time RXS, Look Keos, Time Impacts, or Speedplay X2s. But I had no problems with the Campy Pro-Fits on an older bike, so to me those are a "known quantity".

I switched from a Dura Ace type (Ultegra) SPD-SL pedal to Speedplay Zeros and couldn't be happier. The low-friction float of the Speedplays is so easy on the knees 😄 !

Agree w/clark8 - NOT the spd's. Speedplays, due to the free float, to me work better than Look or SPD SL. When I say 'work better' I don't mean there's anything wrong with look or SPD SL w/r/t power transfer, but my knees hurt a bit on any ride ? ~20 mi. Or even a few mi for the first few rides in the season. So the knees like the Speedplay. And I agree w/cuervo about getting the stainless (or even chromoly) over the Ti.

My Time Impact Mags (or any of the impacts with Q factor adjustment) are the most comfortable I have come across after previously almost always riding shimano.

Keywins on the track bike arent comfortable but they are a pretty effective tool!

I have to agree, I have ridden Speedplay pedals and my Look Keo's are the best, in my opinion.

Hey Chang, why do you like the Keo's over the SPs? The bigger platform = less hot-spotting?

I ride SPD SL and they are fine. If you use the yellow cleats and get a proper bike fitting you should have no knee problems. Mine disapeared immediatly. That goes for any bike pedal though, get a quality bike fitting and feel the pain disapear.

Good stiff sole designed for the spd = no hot spotting.

Yeah, agree with your points regarding fit and knee pain, most problems can be solved there. But even after getting fit by one of the most respected local fitters, my pain didn't go away. The extra free float of my speedplays resolved what couldn't be resolved elsewhere. FWIW, my knees are the recipients of years of abuse skiing like a crazy [censored].
