Have you read your manual ;-)? Most cycling computers have avg/min/max speed
etc as well as multiple trip meters.
Can recommend Cateye devices, 7 years later it's still great.

Though as Mr. Larrington pointed out recently the averager is only good
for journeys of around 24 hours or less. If you're into stupidly long
rides this is mildly annoying.
