More CF Drilling Questions.

Just put the pieces on and make dots or indentations where the holes go.

If you want a paper template then trace your handle, bumper and post on
a piece of paper.

But how do i kno where to position the post on the saddle i dont want to

I just looked at my other bases and picked a good place then centered
it. There might be/probably is a better way though.

ever heard of a measuring tape? give it a try. use an old seat for
reference.

if you want a mock-up of the final product, put some double-sided foam
tape on your seatpost and stick the seat to it. if it looks right,
it's probably ready to drill.

UDC does have a template file. Last I saw it was a Word document file.
You don't want to use it. It's difficult to get it printed so that it
is the right size (correct scale) and even if you do manage to get it
printed to the right scale something is going to be off.

Eyeball the approximate position of the seatpost from your plastic seat
base. That will get it close enough. If you like to ride with the
nose of the saddle tilted up you may want to position the seatpost a
little bit farther back (say a cm or two).

My process is to line the bottom of the CF base with masking tape.
Carefully measure and scribe a line right down the center. Use that
center line to keep everything centered.

Then use the actual parts (seatpost bracket, handle, bumper) to mark
where the holes should be. Position the seatpost, drill one hole, put
a bolt in, then mark where the next hole should be, drill the hole, put
a bolt in, mark where the third hole should be, drill the hole, put a
bolt in, and do the same for the fourth hole. Use the same process for
the handle and the bumper.

Don't mark all four holes at once and then start drilling. You'll
likely end up with the holes being slightly off. Do them one at a
time.

One thing I love about the cf base is, you get to put the post in the
best part of the seat for you. want more tilt? put it further back.
