Can any mechanics out there give me an idea of what I should expect to pay a qualified mechanic to
do some moonlighting for me?
I'm interested in having someone help me build up a bike and do some normal maintenance
stuff. Thanks...

Thanks...Negotiate. I would think $10 an hour would do, plus some beer -- or you could spend $20 on a book
and do it yourself. Assembling a new bike these days is basically plug-n-play. Even better, see if

$85-$100 to build up a bicycle from components. Plus cost of components. That is not much different
than a local shop but I'd expect a slower and more precise build from an independant. -
i've never heard of such a place but it sounds interesting, do you know of a link to such a
cooperative? I'd like to know more...cheers
