Off to france shortly including Buis les Barronies. Have a go at Mont
ventoux? Any useful suggestions on making it easy gratefully accepted.
We are driving with bikes in car for day rides as wife is not up to
cycle touring this year - but will be back on form next.

Take it easy at the start, take lots of water, refil on the way up and
take low gears.
That's just generic advice for climbing serious mountains though since
I haven't been up Mont Ventoux yet.

Ride up from the Bédouin side, and leave as early as you can (heat and
more traffic later). Take lots of liquid it's very bare after the tree line.

Low gears - avoid a 52/39, 14/22, which I used on my first climb of the
beast many years ago :-(
I had to walk a short stretch and the dent in the pride has hurt ever
since - I now *never* walk a hill.
Take lots of water and something to wear for a potentially cold descent.
It can be very windy at the top, and I even got a little vertigo as the
road crossed the scree slopes.
Enjoy - you'll never forget it.
