I came across this note in my user's manual for my new Cinelli Graphis stem;
"Always assemble bars and stems belonging to the same product line and made by the same manufacturer" "We cannot guarantee the efficency or the duration of Cinelli bars and stems assembled together with product by other manufacturers. Assembly Cinelli handlebars and stems with other brands voids your guarantee."
The problem is that I will use my Cinelli Graphis with a FSA RD200 handlebar (both 31.8 mm O.S.) - is this just marketing BS?? Please advise.

It is marketing BS/cover your ass in case something went wrong with a combination. I would not worry about it in the least.

This _is just marking BS_, however, the stem / bars joint is probably the most critical joint on a modern bike. If you have any difficulty getting them together - either too loose or too tight - i'd take it to a local bike shop to get them perfect. If that joint fails, you are in for a very hurtful crash.

When I pour Coke into a glass labeled Coke, it tastes like Coke. When I pour it into a Pepsi glass, it tastes like Coke.
I am using a Ritchey WCS stem (25.8mm) with a ttt oldie bar (26.0mm). Works fine.

That's a warrenty issue. Mercedes branded oil is Mobil 1 full synthetic and Daimler Chrysler might well refuse to pay a for an engine repair if she doesn't use it. And since maintainence is free why doesn't she? Phil Brown

Yah, I hope its O.K. because I am using a Ritchey stem with an FSA bar. There are clamp width restrictions for the FSA CF bars -- and lines on the bars to show where the clamp should go. But as long as you are coloring in the lines, it does not matter what brand of stem you use. -- Jay Beattie.
