Well done glad you made it safely , dont know if you found this but for me
it was a bit of an anti climax when i finished, all summer i had trained
for it and for two weeks every day the bike was king then i found myself
driving 250 miles home and getting up next morning with nothing to do.
So i did what all good cyclists do i went off on a 50 miler much to my wifes
annoyance, she still talks about that yet :-)

The feeling at completion this time was underwhelming exacerbated by the
discovery that they now seem to take down the Land's End sign post flags at
the end of the day. Several disgruntled tourists were griping about it
until I told them how far I'd ridden to see the bl**dy thing. They then
gathered around and clapped and cheered. That lifted my spirits.

I woke up totally disorientated at 05:00 this morning not sure whether I was
riding to or from Land's End then realised that I was back at home. last
night I had jokingly told my wife that I'd be out on a 100km Audax today and
she didn't bat an eyelid. As it is I'll not be cycling today, I seem to have
a cold. I can get down to some catch up practise sessions with my Uileann
pipes before I have my next lesson. I'll also be cleaning the chain from
the bike and giving the bike a minor service.

I still have some riding targets for the next few months - five more 100km
BP Audax rides before the end of October to qualify for the 2000km award
this year and possibly a flat 200km BR permanent before it gets too dark on
an evening.

Well done Vernon, and nice one by the tourists. It's amazing how much a
round of applause can lift the spirits.

I bet the full realisation of the whole achievement will sink in later. It
