  1. No, this isn't a joke. :-)
Pre-LC, I ate plain or multigrain rice cakes under tuna or egg salad
instead of using bread. I enjoyed the crunchy texture.
And they're not really too bad at around 11g net carb/rice cake if you're
at a level that can tolerate that much. I just figured I could wait a few
    more weeks.
Then I was shopping at my local whole foods grocery and found Corn Thins in
the rice cake/cracker aisle. Two of them are about the same thickness as a
single rice cake but they're more densely packed. And only 9g net carbs in
    2 cakes.

corn and rice are both highly glycemic and probably not what any
dieter should eat. you'd be better off eating bread.

<Gag> Rice cakes. Styrofoam is just as tasty but has less calories.

  4. Yeah, I knew I was taking a chance when I posted this that I'd be the only
one on the ng who actually likes and misses them. :-)

When I saw the capital letters in the subject header, I thought it was a beauty
    pageant title. :-)

Rice cakes were what I used to eat instead of the food I wanted to have.

They were okay with apple butter.

My thoughts exactly. My blood glucose spikes just thinking about rice!

Rice cakes are the pork rinds of the low-fat diet

  8. My eating plan doesn't put any importance on glycemic index, but I could
see it being a problem for someone who is diabetic.
