  1. September 23-25, a group from the Twin Cities will head up to Lutsen,
Minnesota for a muni ride up, down and around one of the ski slopes in
the area. As I understand it, we will be able to use the ski lifts to
ride up the mountains, then take the trails back down.

Lutsen is on the North Shore of Lake Superior, about a four and a half
hour northeast of Minneapolis (at normal speeds).

We will be camping Friday and Saturday night at a local campground.

I will post more details as they become available.

We hope some non-Minnesotans will be able to attend.

  4. The Alpine slide isn't nearly as awesome as the one we were on in
Chamonix, France during AUT... but still fun.

If you buy the pass on-line, you pay only $25 and get unlimited
chairlift rides up the mountain, unlimited alpine slide rides, and can
sightsee from the Mountain Tram. The fall colors are incredible in
    September.

    I'll be there!

Mark - you should go. 8 hours isn't that bad of a drive.

  5. yeah the 8 hours isn't the hard part(for me anyway), might be for
talking people into going with me. as i currently work late nights and
a burrito shop, finding a replacement for a busy weekend shift may prove
difficult. plus i'm semi-broke. maybe if jethro posts some more info i
    can make a better decision.

  6. I'll be going too. I'll even try to do a "Nathan style" video of the
ride down the alpine slide. However, I will probably use the brake.

  7. Uniprincess (Lindsey) and I will also be going. We went last year for
the 1st time and it was a blast although I could barely walk the day
    after.....hopefully I'll be a little more fit this year....the tree's
might not be as colorful as the past years cause it's earlier in the
season but they still should be pretty good. Looking forward to it!

  8. Some details:

MN MUni Weekend: September 23-25, 2005
We unicycle all day Saturday at Lutsen - taking the chair lift up and
riding down. Tickets are $26 for the trail and lift pass only, or $30
for trail, lift and alpine slide pass. If you purchase ahead, you can
get the unlimited pass for $25. Go to http://www.lutsen.com for more
    information.
The group camps at Lamb's resort located on Lake Superior.
(http://www.lambsresort.com) They still have camping space available
but it will fill up with it being peak fall colors season. Last year's
rates were around $30 per night. We've let them know that the group is
planning to attend so they try to put the group together. We've rented
three sites, but only two of them are taken. If you are interested in a
site with water and electric hookups contact Roger Magnuson**.

**I left out Roger's contact info as I'm not sure if he wanted it posted
here. I can monitor this thread and pass info onto Roger and/or let him
    post his contact info here.

Other misc details: There isn't a charge for joining us - except for the
trail/lift pass which you have to arrange. There probably will be a
t-shirt. The campground is on the lake - opportunity for some trail
riding and natural trials on Friday night and Sunday. I've heard of over
20 people going already: from TCUC and HOW (Hutchinson One Wheelers).
There is also some interest from a few people from RTUC. For those that
don't like to camp, I know of some people renting a lodge.

Hope to see some new faces this year!

    TCUC President
