  1. Did Miguel Indurain ever ride an Orbea? I am told his team
was sponsored by Orbea at some time. If so, does anybody
know where I can find a picture of him on an Orbea? I can
    only find Pinarellos. Thanks. Gary

No. Pinarello sponsored Banesto for the Indurain years.

It could be that during his early amateur career he was.
He got hooked up with the Reynolds team fairly young. I
know I saw something about his first years and I just
can't remember. He was on a Pinarello or TVT for his
    entire pro career.

  4. This is what the Orbea Pro Shop says about one of their T-shirts:

"Orange Stripe T $21.00 This classic Orbea logo adorned the
jersey of "Big Mig" back when he was riding Orbeas. Now
we've put it on this retro striped T for your apres ride
    pleasure. Slim fitting."

That's why I am asking. Gary

Yes he did. Maybe only one year as a neo-pro, circa 1985.
Try searching for photos of Delgado or even Robert Millar
during the 85 Vuelta. You might find one of then unknown
    Indurain....

I just reviewed the '89 Tour and Indurain was a flunky on
Delgado's team and was plainly riding a Pinarello in what I
    think was his first Tour.

1989 was the first Tour he finished. He DNF'ed in 1987 and
    1988.
