Great views from the top of Butser -- still clear and sunny as we got to the
top. Also fun was the descent on the A285 down to Duncton off the South
Downs. Lots of technical stuff between Midhurst and Petersfield; read: 2
inches of [censored] (literally) on the roads. Lots of fast, smooth roads north of
Chichester going towards Goodwood.

Very enjoyable.

Butser was longer than Cob Lane, but less of a shock (to me at least!). It
was also nice to be able to see the top from the bottom (which was not
possible on Cob Lane -- will it ever end?!). I'm sure these Denmead rides
could qualify for AAA points. It seems that they're just not interested in
getting them classified. Gotta hand it to Dave -- he cycled out to Midhurst
to get the stickers on the cake shop counter before we arrived (admittedly,
he did take a short cut). Found a new, alterantive route back to Southampton
from Denmead, which will be useful in future.

Yes could not find the North Thames so assumed that was what you were
talking about.
BTW I have been given conditional all clear to do the MSH next year, a
million forms to fill in ;-(

randoneers who entered much too late. She'd let them on last year, but they
tried the same trick this year! Apparently the numbers are limited by the
number of cars which can fit in the village hall car park.

Yes, looks like it's you and Paul (of EGCC) at the first control. You
might even find the right way back to it from the start ;-)

I will put a limit but phone anyone who is over the number and say they
have to park elsewhere, should not be a problem.
