July 30th on the shores of Lake Superior ensures race day temps of 55-60
    degrees and a nice breeze.
200ft tall sandstone cliffs on an island.

  2. Ooooh. I was just looking for an excuse to go to the UP this summer. Have
you run this one before? What's it like? Looks pretty hilly.

  6. Grand Island is a turd sticking out of the water. Beaver Island is the
only island in Michigan worth discussing.

A beaver and a turd in close proximity? Now that rings a bell....

My kind of race and I love the little uphill at the finish.

  10. I've been on 8 of the islands in the great lakes and I can confirm that none
of them are made of turds.
However, on Isle Royale (the largest island in the great lakes) I did step
in and see many fresh moose turds.
Perhaps, in another 1000 years, it will be made of turds.
Beaver Island is nice too - CMU Biological station and a history of the
    Mormons.

  11. never seen the U.P.
    well think on it.
hows the 10¢ cans there and is there land to hide and camp.
or is it like the $440.00 a night for a hotel that 30 runners stay in
and if one of them helps pay. an alien was sighted.
and as a party goes. energy food everywhere and if one move's more
then his arm to feed his face before race time is to be hads....

because I still not have a job. or income.
butt I do have a bike and 10¢ cans to live on......... and after 2
years and 3 month. I really might bandit it just because I can....
or not go because I can do this better....

    Never seen the U.P.....
colder then the cold I think. water stays at 40° k evan in summer and
so blue.....? I heard too....... gee with gas the way it and people are
so cost this...... for to work is to re work........ so why work........
