Micheling rim strip?

Mine have developed cracks after about 2 years, enough of a sharp edge exposed to puncture a tube.
The cotton Velox rim strips seem to last longer. If you don't expect to keep the tire on for two
years, use the Michelin strip for now and get a Velox later.

My Campagnolo Electon wheels came pre-mounted whith Michelin rim strips and I allmost destroyed them
and the edges of the rim, in my first attemped to remove them. So now I use Schwalbe "Super HP" -
much better!!

I've got them on my Campy Nukes and my Ambrosio ExaLites. Never ever had any problems with them.
Never had problems taking them off and putting them back on either. Don't know about other rim
strips but Michelin's work for me.

I've used one of those on my rear wheel, where I use a pressure of about 8 bars. It's seen close to
7000 km now, and it I haven't had any trouble, but several people have reported them splitting and
puncturing the tube. Velox cloth tape is cheap, easily found and works great, so there's really no
reason to use anything else.

For those that are challenged with changing out tires, thinner rim tape will make getting the tire
on and off a bit easier.

I ask because Campy ships a Michelin rim strip with its wheels. Is that sufficient reason?
