80s and before.
If you want to talk about recruiters lying their ass or, or at least being
misleading, then we have a conversation.
Tour extensions suck but in the long run just might save lives. One of the
[censored] from both French and US forces about Vietnam was that people were
either being rotated out of the area or country when they finally had enough
experience to function well and stay alive. The stats were especially bad for
new draftees w/limited training being dropped straight into boonie units. The
FFL had some of the most effective units with the lowest per yr casualty rates
because they weren't rotated except for R&R. They knew the area and people they
were dealing with the way you know your neighbors and backyard, so were able to
avoid a lot of the mistakes that killed new troops, and still do for that
matter.

I don't doubt Bush's IQ. I do doubt the public existence of a certifiable
source since most every record of import with regard to George W. Bush's
past has been lost or accidentally destroyed.
As for exercising his IQ, you will hear next to nothing about his High
School and College years because he would instantly jeopardize his status
as a good white Christian. More importantly factions of the faithful don't
want to hear about it because it would adversely affect their virtual

Interesting to think about. The "all volunteer" army idea. Imagine that
if no one volunteered to join, what do you think Bushwhacker would do
then. All draft army.
