Metal or Rap?

There is good hard rock and good rap. There is [censored] in both genres as well. Why did you choose to exclude some rap but leave all "metal" in one group? Sounds like you are trying to sway the voting. You also left out an option for liking both. More swaying.

I haven't posted here for ages so I figured a completely pointless poll seem apt...

Metal rocks - apart from tone deaf screaming - rap sucks apart from the that famous white eminem fellow - christian music is pretty arb apart from Creed who are pretty good.

I agree on the yo yo check out my ice bling pad ho bling bling wheels approach to rap - what utter crud!

There is one thing worse than any other form of music on the planet - the recent Jay-Z/Linkin Park collaboration attempt. It's the music equivalent of mixing food and stmoach acid - you only ever gonna get SH!T.

What I'm trying to say is that which do you prefer? Metal with obscene lyrics(death,and other gothy stuff), or rap with obscene lyrics(sex, drug & money). I know most of the heavy metal songs has obscene meaning(not all though), that is why I did not put the exclude thingy for metal poll. I did not mean that christain rap is good, yes they are bad, but the meaning is much, much, much better than Tupac and 50 cent.

Damn. That's right. Alright, ignore the top pole. From now on we will revote. Put a EEK! face( :eek: ) for heavy metal and Cool face( 😎 ) for rap. Got meaning or bad, that does not matter anymore(though it feels weird to me).

What's with the obsene lyrics thing? That's for people who aren't getting any.

Most rap I've heard was rubbish, at least to me it was. The only nice thing I could find is half the time you can't hear what they're saying. Buncha criminal gangbangers, real role model material.

Proper heavy metal - Oz, Black Sabbath, Judast Priest, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Blue Oyster Cult, bands like that... I still put that on from time to time.

Music is music , some is good , some bad . I think it was Duke Ellington who said that there are really only two types of music , the stuff you like and the stuff you don´t ( though he used better words ) .
In the last three days I´ve listened to Elgar , Borodin ( clasical , the pair ) the Corrs , early Deep Purple , ELP ( early ) , Heart , Frank Sanatra ( circa ´47 ) and Tom Petty oh yes plus Edith Piath plus jacque Brel .
and that doesn´t include all the stuff on tv and radio that you meet in bars etc and at home . 😕

While I am a metal head from the 80's I have really grown to love alternative music. Bands like Shinedown, Crossfade and Disturbed really kick ass and when loaded onto my MP3 player really keep you pumped up on those extra long grueling rides. 🙂

I meant metal like Killswitch Engage, Norma Jean, Pureblank(you'll least to likely know them, their from Guelph),etc. AC/DC is more of rock n' roll.

I even heard some lousy friend of my said metal is rubbish, and when I give my big loud lecture about rap(kinda like the 1st post in this thread) everyone paid attention to me, and he tried to ignore him. Some peple tell me to fight him, but I'm gentleman enough to not. 😕 😕 😕

Conclusion: rap & R&B sucks, everything else rule.....

I don't like either. I prefer music. 😉

So in other words the guy who started this thread hates rap and loves metal and wants his feeling vindicated.
