If you are going to use them within a few days they should be fine, just
make sure that they are well dried. My wife does the meringues around
here, and she leaves them in the oven for hours. The important thing is to
keep them dry.

My mother used to freeze meringues all the time. They aren't ruined by
freezing but they do tend to get a little gummy and chewy on the bottom
after being frozen.

I believe this dessert would be called Pavlova, by our Aussie friends.
;-) I wouldn't store them airtight because any little bit of moisture
left in them would spread to all of them and make them chewy/soggy.
I'd make sure they were dry and then just store them in a container
with the lid popped slightly open, or covered with paper just to keep
them fresh and clean, and make sure they were in a DRY place.

Keep them in a loosely covered box, not frozen. airtight and they may
"moisturize."

Yes. I make them fairly often and keep them in a large
metal can with a tight lid. They keep very well that way.
Just make sure they're completely cooled.

Well, I live in Pgh. where humidity can be high and
I have never had a problem if I store them in an airtight
container after they are completely cool.
