to the dentist so he can buy a new Mercedes. You can also protect your brain from the dangers of cell phone
electromagnetic radiation by wearing a tin foil hat.Best of luck.

Thanks. However I may have some symptoms of effects of mercury vapour
exposure. You measure this with hair or saliva tests. If you have excessive
mercury and it is causing a problem then you have to look for remedies. -

You may all care to note that this advice was done with no [censored],
or lengthy copied and pasted input. Here we have a simple link to a
web site where *real* experts, with their own research, have made the
information readily available.I commend this method to you all, and by so doing advise that you will
avoid the dubious [censored] churned out by a couple of our
pseudo-intellectual "scientific & medical" 'experts'!! ;o) -

Thanks Charles - that is the best article I have seen on the subject - I
have an appt with a 'biological dentist - see what's involved (only 3
mercury fillings to worry about) -

Quite clearly if I had wanted to help David with the problem you have

Wow...that's some good stuff there. Except for the fact that the
"homeopathic dentist" has a financial interest in making amalgam fillings
sound really scary, and the fact that he posts not one single link to a
scientific study backing up his claims of their "dangers".But, hey, if you want to spend money yanking out your fillings so you feel
safer...go ahead. I'm sure the dentist will appreciate your patronage, and
your fears.GG

David, I've had my mercury fillings replaced over the course of ten
years. Whenever one needed replacing I had the dentist use the tooth
colored fillings. My current dentist is neutral on the subject as
mandated by the ADA. They are required to NOT give any opinion one way
or the other. He stated what vested interest the ADA had in enforcing
this but I can't remember what it was. -

Gary - It is getting rare now for a dentist to use mercury - there has been
a gradual movement away from mercury over the past 10 years. Just about all
dentists here are using composite fillings - there is probably a reason for
this. -

must be concerned about potential class actions - using a toxic substance
when a non toxic one is readily available - cheaper to use and handle etc -
you know when they remove old mercury fillings they have to dispose of them
as hazardous waste. -

is a poison, that is permanently set in your mouth... not a good idea.
We learned as kids not to chew on thermometers for the same reason. I
personally know at least two people who have had biological symptoms of
mercury poisoning after extensive dental work. I started experiencing
severe hypoglycemic reactions for the first time in my life just after
having a series of fillings. It turns out that a lot of people have the
same problem.People may dismiss the dangers of mercury as a conspiracy theory, but it
truly is a problem, and dentists probably aren't going to stop and point
out that they may have made some big mistakes. Fluoride has proven just
as dangerous over the years, but they really don't want to back up and
admit it at this point. It is never a good idea to just accept the general ideas perpetuated by
an industry, thus the reason individuals need to search unbiased reports
and learn the truth about mercury. It isn't about lining the dentist's
pocket and having the fillings removed, rather it is spending money to
protect yourself from a medical technique that has been found harmful.mjoann

There are several reasons for the decline in use of mercury fillings:
Fear (probably irrational, given the lack of documented harm in billions of
patients)Aesthetics (the alternatives are less noticeable)
Money (dentists charge more for the alternatives).
GG
BTW - if you're worried about exposure to mercury, you really should
investigate whether or not your net exposure will be increased due to the
removal procedure. -

If I didn't know you less than I do, I would swear blind that you are
pulling my pisser you cynical little bugger!!If you want cites to support that which *I* already know, then here
are plenty for you in the following article:Wow...it's on the internet so it must be true, eh?
I scanned through that web page. Like most such pseudo-science sites, it
attempts to combine a grain of truth (exposure to elemental mercury can
cause health problems), with a leap of faith and fear (dental amalgam
contains mercury, so it must be dangerous), and conspiracy (the dentists
don't want us to know "the truth"😉.It doesn't even prove the point it's trying to make. That incredibly long
web page lists many dangers of mercury exposure, but cites no studies that
document an association between *dental amalgam* and adverse health effects. Please note - I remain open to the possibility that properly conducted
studies may reveal an association between dental amalgam, and health
effects. But, until such evidence comes in, I'm not planning on spending
thousands to have my fillings removed on the basis of a pseudo-scientific,
fear-based web page.GG
