  1. i am having this weird mental thing going on at the moment.
i am 68.7kg at the moment but if have to think of what i
weigh, my mind thinks 70 something. i just can't get it into
my head that i am under 70kg. it seems like some kind of
mental block thing. and i still have a mental picture of
myself that is alot heavier than what i am at the moment and
when i look in the mirror. is this the same with anyone
else? does it take a while for your brain to catch up with
your body? i find the whole thing strange! what will happen
    when i get to goal?

    Hi,

I have been reading in here for a while and think it is the
nicest group I have ever seen. I'll introduce myself
properly later, but I just realized your goal weight is the
same as mine, and I have to ask (if you don't mind): how
tall are you? I'm 178 cm (~ 5,84 feet ?) and not really sure
    what goal to aim for.

    i'm 171cm (i think 5'7"😉. as i said in another post, i think
that 63kg will be too heavy for me as i feel that i need to
lose more than 6kg. it's hard to tell though, until you get
there. at WW the healthy weight range for my height is 72-
59kg. when at the weight i should be, i am quite tall &
thin. so i am definitely at the bottom of their range.

rather than weight, i am aiming for 98cm around my thighs (i
am currently 104cm). so i would figure that is more like
10kg to lose? everything seems to have re-arranged itself
after having a baby & it seems i weigh less but have more
bulk on me if that makes sense?

  4. well, I have been at goal since August and still find myself
amazed when I can feel my ribs and such when I wake in the
morning. Also have a hard time recognising my reflection in
    store windows and such.

  5. This ain't gonna help, but...... I've been where I am (roughly) for 3
years. And I still can't get my head around myself sometimes. I figure you
spend so long being fat in both a mental and physical sense that it's going
to take a long time to change that. Mostly I'm there, but I have mad times
when shopping when I can't believe the sizes I'm shopping in. Or that I can
wear certain things now. And then I still have days when I look in the
mirror and see fat me, because I'm up that week, or my thighs feel big, or
whatever...... Let's just say there seems to be a long period of
adjustment! But it's worth it 🙂

Funny my mental image has always been thin and I always
cringe when I see pictures of myself because I see how fat
I've become. When I look in the mirror I see myself as
slightly overweight (but heavier than I expect to look).

think "boy this outfit really flatters me" and then I see a

I have to agree with the other poster. I've lost quite a bit
but I still think of myself as fat. I'm amazed when people
tell me not to lose any more. Other times I look in the
mirror and think that if I really didn't need to lose a bit
more why do I still have a big tummy etc.

    It will come with time

  11. The mind's eye is (that's what I call it) an odd thing. Mine
is skewed in a different direction as I seem to think I'm
smaller than I am-until I look in the mirror anyway.

I'm almost at goal and I know exactly what you mean. I was
up to 175 pounds about a year ago and now am about 131. I
look in the mirror and I don't see a terribly skinny person,
but I fit into size 4 (US) shorts/jeans, which I never
dreamed I'd do! (I thought size 8, maybe
6). I do see a skinnier me when I'm in my workout clothes
(now that I bought some smaller stuff); maybe I just
need to keep preening in the mirror...and buy clothes
    that fit! 😉

    Betsey

  13. I still think I should be wearing larger size clothes than
the ones I'm wearing, which I bought in January and are now
baggy. I still think I've got 100 lbs to lose instead of
around 20. I still am not used to feeling my rib bones and
hip bones and shoulder bones. I still can't believe it when
people make comments such as "you're a slip of your former
self." I still believe I'm the fattest person in the room.

  16. It can take a while. When I had lost 50 lbs, it took me a looong time to
recokgnize myself in the mirrors at clothing stores. I couldn't believe that
    it was MY body!!:o)

Now I feel the same way - though it doesn't feel as good
now, because the reason is a weight gain;o)

  17. YES a new toy. I love going places that I used to wonder

It REALLY STILL IS. I think that besides being able to do
more easier, that WOW feeling, well, FEELS GREAT.

I've said it before, for this guy, it is like having a
    new high tech toy.

  19. I am a lifetime WW member and I still have trouble with the
body image thing. I still see that fat little girl when I
look in the mirror. I am now wearing a size 8 when I once
wore a snug 14. When I look in the mirror, I still see a
size 14. When someone asks me if I am going to continue to
lose weight I am not certain what to say. My mother has a
real problem with my looks and tells everyone who will
listen that I look "awful." Mom is 86 and doesn't get out
much so there aren't many people to tell but she is
certainly vocal about it. That does not help the body image
    thing, either.
