  1. For those using Memory Map OS 2004, there is an update to
4.2 available. This has a number of updates, too many to
mention, but general improvements to printing including a
method of printing the profile, also a 3D fly through. The
download and a summary can be seen from the link below. memory-memory-
    map.co.uk/dl_mm_OS_2004.htm Regards Joe

  2. Still no "go to grid reference" function though...

MM seem keen on bringing in advanced features, but they
overlook the most fundamental basic ones. Go to Grid, Ctrl+F
to find (instead of having to use the menu) etc.

I would like MM to enhance the printed maps by having a
facility to include the waypoint number. I print off a
couple of maps with the route card on the back, sometimes
I'll change the waypoint to a name
(i.e. SgurrD) so it means more but if there's a multitude of
waypoints on the way to the top, GPS merely says "170m
to Waypoint 18" or such like. If the printed map had
an "18" printed next to the waypoint it would be a lot
easier. I can work it out but it's still an easyish
thing (I would imagine) for them to include.

If you go to the properties for the waypoint you can toggle
display of the name. I think that setting applies to a
    printout also.

I'll stick with OziExplorer until something better
    turns up....

So you can! Thanks, I often don't get round to reading full
instructions for software, I'm averse to help menus. I
    prefer a handbook.

Something I would like to see in MM is hypsometric contours.
Even better would be a function to set a datum so you only
see terrain above a specified height and which could be
varied interactively (say with a slider similar to the
vertical exaggeration in 3D mode), like flooding the
    landscape.
