Especially if you're in the front seat of a tandem.

I would think that would give you some extra "propulsion", especially
    useful on the uphills.... ;-)

But wouldn't that give you the same light, bouyant feeling of a bike

    I was in the middle of a hot-weather, fast, two-hour long-lunch ride. I
was on my way back to work and was famished. I stopped at a Carl Jr's,
ordered something huge and greasy and nasty with fries, washed it all
down with a giant Dr Pepper, and hopped back on the bike. Digestional
    distress started shortly thereafter.
