  7. An awesome nights entertainment at Vodaphone- now I'm wondering how future CI events will go up at DISC? Closer to home for Bikesoiler & moi (who's up at Kona 24 this evening)

Perfect night, until a kittycat ran in front of me on the way home. Why did YOU do that? I luv cats!

Anyway, I duly braked hard, landed on my head & now have skin off on elbow & knee. Old rib injury aching away too. Was lying on the road winded for a good 2 mins+. Ouch. Many many thx to Pete who received my SMS, doubled back & escorted moi home.

NOW LISTEN UP - YOU CATS OWE ME A FECKING BIG FAVOUR!!!!!
    😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠

I haven't had that winded feeling for a good 13 years. Ick.

Take care on the way to the BBQ!

May have to pass on National BBQ Day @ CERES, the ribs are pretty painful. Doesn't feel broken though, I've cracked ribs on that side before, but should limp off to the dr's to get checked out. Did indeed land directly on head, ie: grabbed a handful of brake to avoid hitting kitty, endo on front wheel, straight over while clipped in & landed in a tangled mess.

Funny thing while at Vodaphone I recall briefly mentioning about how h*lm*ts have directly lead to a decrease in cycling rates since they became compulsory circa 1991. Think the H*lm*t Gods overheard that, and then conspired with the Cat Gods to directly send moi a message to STFU. :o

Side or top of head first? Be glad it wasn't your face, if it indeed
wasn't -- anyway, you got away without all that broken nose and eye
    sockets nastiness 🙂

Helmets are an expensive consumable, aren't they (~~~ waves hands ~~~
this is not the helmet thread, move along now)?

Top of head/helmet first, then landing f***ing heavily on leftside. Left elbow - bark off, bruised, lotsa swelling. Left leg, two big bruises. Right knee, some bark off & swelling. Worried about ribs on leftside but it doesn't hurt anywhere as much as previous times I've cracked them.

    The important stuff: Bike
Tears in brand new tape on the bullhorns, the barend shifters incurred damage. BTW, does anyone tips on how to protect these plastic levers? Normal wear n' tear aside I think they're gonna end up stuffed within a relatively short period. Long rip in leather Speed-She saddle, but think I can repair that. Oh, and one rear pocket on sleeveless jersey ripped badly. H*lm*t could be stuffed - two dents. Bugger
