Carnegie/Caulfield have published the winter road calender, but it's scant on for details re Modella (flat or hilly?) and there's a disapointingly large number of races at the Casey Field crit track in Cranbourne. Hrm. On the good side, CCCC are running Philip Island again, which was a great course last year, and also the Anglesea proving grounds. No mention of the Lang Lang proving ground though, which is a shame. It was a very interesting course. There's no Summers race either, which may be a blessing - it wasn't very safe last year and wasn't really a big enough course for large fields.
Here it is. I'm nagging Mal Sawford to find out about the Modella variant. For those that don't know, there's two courses at Modella, one goes through the foothills around Lang Lang, and one is almost dead flat (and windy!)
I think that I did the Somers course last year, would have been fine if they had a whole road closure.
On and that was the race that I ended up stacking into ditch when some nuffy grabbed way to much brakes and did a flicky endo. I dived out of teh way but couldn't keep it upright in the ditch...

Bad news for us flatlanders ... the Modella races will all be on the hilly course due to extended roadworks on the flat route.
Must turn 90kg sprinter into 65kg climber ... *doh*

Hills - sweeeeeeeeeet! So long as there are no sharp corners less than 1 km apart I'll be smiling (or is that climber's grimace, sucking in more air??) 😄

You need to get a coach!
I've got one, he's an argumentitive, opinionated (bordering on arrogant!) [censored] who makes me ride all sorts of bloody stupid things that don't suit my hulking great lardy frame.
He can't stop me eating CHIPS and icecream though!
