  1. I am looking to plan meals based on %carbs, proteins, fats
In the past I was always "close enough" to my satisfaction but after
reading ths article on caloric cycling
    http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/hugo19.htm
I am going to be much much more precise. Can anybody point me in the
direction of some software or web site that might do this if such a
    thing exists?
Google so far hasn't been muc help.......

    http://www.dietpower.com
Free trial download and then you can purchase it - much better than
FitDay (and its on your own computer, not on a website). It 'learns' as
you add menus to it, has nice drag and drop features, adds in your
activities/calories expended, and even tracks your water intake for
    you.

I already use fitday. What I am hoping for is something that is more or
less the opposite of fitday. Something where you could input nutritional
requirements and it could spit out some suggested foods.

Tuna, peanut butter, bread. Just vary the proportions and veggie.

You could spend the ~$19 for the Fitday download. It has all that and a
    weight, fitness, etc... tracker.

There are things I don't like about Fitday. Namely, once a food scrolls off
the "add recent" drop-down list, you have to go search for it again. Also
it estimates BMR way too high. For me anyway. I have to tell it I'm
bedridden to get it down where it should be. But, all in all, it's been a
very insightful three months or so using it. I've learned a lot about
    nutrition and what I'm eating.

The U.S.S. Enterprise had something like that. The technical name

That would be the replicator. I have three slightly used models left. I will
let you have one for big bucks. E-mail me if interested. 🙂

I like FitDay because it's free, you can add meals in advance, and you
can get to it from anyone's computer....this can be vital if you are
    traveling.

constipating effects of varying amounts of peanut butter, bread, and
    tuna as one wag suggested.

I am working in construction currently. I have my Lifestyle Level set to
bedridden, then add activities. Assuming I don't work out at all and just
put in Finish Carpentry for the day, it says I need 4,148 to maintain. And
that's if I don't add any athletic activities. That's nuts. If I ate that
every day, I'd be a blimp.

For my weekly energy output I calculate from various sources that I
need upward of 4000 calories per day to 'maintain'.

The truth is that if I venture over about 2500 calories per day, I
begin to increase fat weight at an alarming rate. My observation is
that I retain fluid and tend to bloat if I increase my carbohydrate
    intake to any marked degree.

It is nothing for me to gain half a stone (7 lbs) over the course of a
normal weekend, which is gone again by the following Friday by cutting
calorie intake to 1500 per day Monday to Friday!!

It's a tough routine but years of 'yo-yo' dieting together with
advancing years have played havoc with my metabolism. Despite all this
I have retained good LBM and fitness levels, with my current body fat
at around 19% after my usual annual New Year bant.

And then there was Easter....... five days of hedonism....... and he
who pays the minstrel calls the tune!! ;o)
