Looks like Mayo is sick of his Spanish groupies putting to much pressure on him.... love to see him riding the Giro..... good luck to him.... this could be his year... good idea to move teams methinks.... plus he'll look pretty in yellow.... my tip for the Giro at this point is Cuengo....

LOL. Always thought the orange Euskadi kit looked a bit silly... 😉

No more silly than rossa or ciclamino. It gets attention, that's the point. I like Mayo but I haven't seen anything to make me think he could do well in Giro Tour double.

LOL. Having a bad day, or partial to Basque phone companies? 😉
I still think it looks silly.
Must be biased. No issues here with the pink jersey. Have to agree on the ciclamino, though...

Mayo and the Giro would seem to be a natural match - given the Giro's very mountainous profile in recent years.
But Iban blows hot and cold..............................more cold in recent years.
I can't visualise his winning the Giro. -
Yes. But then again, this would be kind of a 'last chance'... how long can you command a good salary by only looking back to a very good year...
IMHO is very much an outsider at the final victory. Maybe he could shake things up on a mountain stage...

He tried the Giro/Tour double last year:
Giro - 128th, 3h43m down on Basso.
Tour - Retired on stage 11 after a good showing at the Dauphine. The team move is a good one, he's only 29, hopefully he can rediscover his 2003-2004 form.
Cunego looks tough to beat (depending on whether Basso is i) present and ii) fit). The TT testing that Cunego did over winter should help immensely. John Cobb reckons that he's knocked 2 minutes off Cunego's TT (over 56km).

The jerseys that stand out the most, get the most recognition for the sponsor. I think EE has a good thing going - so do Saunier-Duval, T-Mobile, Caisse d'eparnwhatever; you can spot those jerseys from a helecopter camera at 300 feet and that makes sponsors happy.
Silliest jersey award goes to Team Z.

Yep, those Z jerseys. My god. From the era, one of my all time favorites is the Skill, but best for me was the 7-Eleven kit.

I bet that Mayo will have a great season. There was obviously something not right with Euskaltel's doping program. Performances for the whole team were all over the map after 2003. With Gianetti in charge, Mayo will get what he needs.

I always liked the Chateaux d'Ax stuff Bugno used to rock.Euskaltel-Euskadi's kit looks better on TV than it does in person, but it certainly stands out in a sea of blue.
