While out playing Popeye, I decided to place a call into them (easily the most expensive call I've ever made, at $1.00 a minute on the ship-to-shore pay-phone)... explianed the problem..... they contended the springs they sent are correct, I insisted they were not.... The conversation went a little something like this: Well according to the technical drawings you should have 160 springs. No, I have 175 springs I have one and a ruler in my hand right now. let me E-mail you a picture......... Hmmm okay our technical drawings must be wrong Yeah they must be. Okay, I will send you a 15mm top out coil Thank you... good bye <17 minutes later>
Fast foreward a few weeks and I arrive home to find a 19mm "rebound coil" was waiting for me: http://forums.mtbr.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=52069&stc=1 and.......... SHAZAM, you now have yourself a suitible replacement for the medium coil shipped w/ the MX Comp Compare the original and the cobbled together "set". http://forums.mtbr.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=52070&stc=1 Together, they are just slightly longer than the stock set ... you experince a bit of spring resistance screwing the caps back on, which is just fine since it provides a bit more pre-load from the get-go.
19mm Lenght? No wonder they screwed up, twice. They must have a mew form of measurement in Italy. I guess Lenght is always a little different than Length.

What an ass... that company needs an overhaul. Did you explain to the idiot where you were calling from, and you were defending his right to sell you the wrong frig'n parts!!!
Why, because he was operating off of incorrect tech doccuments? Wasn't _his_ fault, in fact given the situation he did exaclty the right thing, verified the problem and resolved it.

The early development of the 29"er fork was done "on the fly" so to speak, mine was one of the first prototypes built for Fisher, os it is understandable that they weren't up to snuff on all the internals.

As for those springs, maybe it's shadow but that blue coil extension looks like a much lighter gauge from the black length.
