I find that after a relatively easy 8 mile walk it now takes me a full
two days before I get my full energy back, unless I make a mid-week
effort to get even as little 2 or 3 miles in on a local hill.

Talking of which I did the first part of the Tameside Trail a couple of
weeks ago and was rather taken by the section from Broadbottom to Windy
Harbour where the old steak joint used to be. The wood near Botham's
    Hall was particularly pleasant.

I had not played off road on that side of the Low before and was quite
    impressed.

There are a few walks from Broadbottom we use in winter to save driving
far, but haven't done the B/B to Werneth one yet, (I don't know why -
just a matter of working out a return route.

    A good 7 miler is:

Lymefield - over the river bridge - Warhurst Fold - Woodseats Farm -
Boarfold - Botham's Hall - Great Wood then back onto the Broadbottom
road and up to Mottram Church (possibly via the Waggon) - return via The
    Hague and Hague Road.

Surprising how much quiet country can be found fairly close. :-)

Thanks for that - I will have to give it a go sometime.

Indeed and there are even some pleasant bit in the urban sprawl. I also
enjoyed your local part of the trail from Debdale Park through to Daisy
    Nook.

The Nook to Mossley is next on my list.

The previous section passes my house! I'll have to put up a urw sign.
I've passed the time of day with a few groups over the garden fence....

    <Thinks>

    Teas? B & B (ladies only)? ;-)

Indeed - I will give it a wave when I next go by, probably in the half
term holiday so you have plenty of time to get the sign up.

Now what would your companion think of that?

She's the only one to take me up on the offer, and left without paying
    the bill. :-)
