Are they worth it ? Or usually junk ?
Might be able to get a used one for $50.
Any advice ? No money for a motorized real one, and trouble motivating
to go to gym often enough, and cost of membership, etc...
thanks./

Go for it! I prefer non-motorized TM's.

Not for running. Some of them might be ok for walking exercise in a pinch,
but if motivation is your problem, getting a treadmill won't help. Get some
good shoes, go outside, and exercise. It's actually far more difficult to
get motivated to exercise inside than it is outside because the environment
stimulates you and makes it more interesting. TV indoors helps, but won't
substitute for outdoors in my experience.

I wholeheartedly agree. However weather here in the NE is not
conducive to good running in the winter months, so a TM is a good
idea, but an eliptical trainer is a better one.
If motivation is a concern for you, that thing is just going to be a $50
clothing rack.

Hmmm, why not just run outside?
