We went out and bought a bunch of candy for treat or treaters, came
home, and found out we have no light bulbs. Wouldn't be a problem if
our porch light, entryway light, and end table lamp weren't all burned
    out.

Got some bad news at the doctor today, so we're just gonna blow
Halloween off this year. Going back to bed now.

Hope you get more kids, Nance!

What are you complaining about 🙂 It's dark here, the lights are on,
and the candy is ready. Haven't had one kid yet!

  5. It's 6pm here in Albany, NY, and we've had 2 groups of 2 each so far.

I think I'm gonna have Hershey Bars, Kit Kats & Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
    on hand for a while.

Will be Googling for recipes tomorrow, probably. . .

    That doesn't sound good. :/
If there's anything I can do, please let me know. Meantime, I'll light a

It's only 3:15 here, so I got a while yet. We usually get alot of kids
though, since we live near a church and an elementary school. I'd say we had
about 60 before we left to go out last year.

My lot of trick or treaters don't come out until after they have diner,
    between 7pm and 8pm.

I'm only handing out kaboom rocks and astro pops for about 10 or so kids.
In past years, I'd get 30 to 40 and give out red twizzlers, starburst and
    hershey bars.

Now any candy that's left over I donate to the local fire company that
they can use as bribe candy to get the kids to wash the firetrucks, sweep
the floors, etc. You know... keep 'em out of trouble. 🙂

Me, I'm on the hard stuff nowadays, 70-85% cocoa dark chocolate bars.

Around here Halloween usually involves organized activities held at schools,
etc. Everyone is so paranoid about letting children knock on doors
(probably a good thing these days) that trick-or-treats is virtually a thing
    of the past.

On the other hand there is the religious contingent that takes all the fun
out of it, claiming it's akin to devil worship. It's dress-ups and candy,
    get a grip. (sigh)

it's six thirty in New York City. Between fifteen and twenty kids
have have been here and the home made chocolate chip cookies for the
adults who accompany the kids, are a big success. :o)

I prepared for sixty. It gets busy between seven and eight, Let's
    wait and see.

    You do better than me.
I live on a residential street, but it's got heavy traffic.

I've not gotten a single trick or treater in years, but I always keep
one bag of candy on hand just in case.

I also still put out jack o lanterns. :-)

I think trick or treating is going to go by the way of the Dodo bird.
<sigh> It's just getting to be too dangerous. Most parents do parties
now. Either neighborhood, school or church.

    Sad.

Oh, to have 4 kids come by. We are lucky to get one. It's a bummer
because we really love trick or treaters.

It's almost seven thirty and about thirty trick or treaters have been
here. I have thirty more bags to give out. Since nobody comes after
eight, I doubt that I will get rid of all of them.

It is now 7:30 and we have run out of the 60 candy bars we bought. The
parents bring the kids. We are out of town but the area must be known
as a good place to get lots of goodies.

Just 7 so far. I walked around the block and it really looks creepy. It's
cold and drizzling. Just a bit of fog too. I'm telling anyone that comes
by to grab handfuls of the candy. The 5lb bag of gummy fangs is almost
gone but the gummy eyeballs and Bubble Gum Pops are still staring at me.
Steven ate all the Snickers already. I'm gonna have to give this stuff
away on the streets tomorrow 😉

Yup, 8 is curfew here, I had 15 kids. So we both have a lot of
extra candy. I'll think of something to do with it all.

It's 5:44 at the moment here in SoCal and we haven't had a single one,
though the porch light's been on for an hour. Leftover candy goes in
the fridge and gets eaten over as long a period of time as our
willpower enables. Been enjoying guac and chips while we wait. -aem
