We stay at the Casa Margarite, but as it's close to the main square the
streets around can be quite noisy.

### Well yes, but it's still the best and you need to ask at the Tourist
Office near the station for current info. Don't know whether this stays
open all year. The Sunflower guide Landscapes of Mallorca has some
similar walks and they used to do an update sheet (poss on their website
now) compiled from readers contributions.

### We were there in May and met a number of access problems but it's
difficult to itemise them. The route onto the Alfabia Ridge is still
closed at S'arrom but it's possible to get up to L'Ofre via the Barranc
de Biniaraix. The route from Massanella to Lluc, via ComaFreda is being
discouraged but an alternative is in place and signed.

It includes 1:40,000 scale mini maps and GPS waypoints on the walks.

There are a number of good places to stay in Soller, depending upon how
much you want to pay, although some close for Jan or Feb so you will
have to check them out - Hotel S'Ardeviu just off the square, Hotel
Ca'l Bisbe which is lovely, Ca's Sant which is a bit out of town (and
expensive!), the new Gran Hotel (very expensive but very smart) and
Ca'n Isabel, Ca'n Quatre and others. There are also one or two B&B's
(Casa Margarita) or you can rent an apartment in town if you fancy self
catering. Most places are listed on the Soller web site www.soller.net
inluding Kenyon Strickland who do rental property. There are loads of
walks from Soller included in the Sunflower and June Parker guides, and
the tourist office by the station has some others as well as bus
timetables etc. Plenty of maps available in town and there is a biking
and trecking shop on Carrer Luna who will give advice on walks and
access if you pop in. There are hotels in the Port, but for walking
you are better off being in the town (plenty of restaurants). For some

The local bus service is more limited out of the main season, but
taxi's with fixed prices are available by the station, if you need one.
Have a good time, it's a great place to walk.
