The original article states "Soldiers mix instant coffee with water in
the bag", so on that basis it's not happening yet. But I would guess
you could use Actual Coffee for something like a result.

In the meantime, however, Ortlieb's filter holder works nicely and the
mugs with built in cafetiere filters look viable. Nothing wrong with those.

Some Wayfayrer meals have these heater things in, I remember trying one out
a couple of years ago.
You put the standard foil food pack in the supplied plastic bag along with
the heater pad. Tip some water in the plastic bag and let the chemical
reaction turn the water hot. Leave it for 15 minutes and lunch is reheated!
You then have a hot pad to keep your hands warm or warm up your dessert.

It cost about £6, more than the standard meal at £3.50, but came with
sachets of salt and pepper and a knife/spork set.
