  1. Hello, ASDW!

I just found this group, thought I'd check it out. I'm a
lifetime member and currently in week 518 of maintenance (I
reached goal on June 4th 1994). I'm also a former WW leader,
    1994 to 1995. I haven't been to a meeting in a while because
I'm a bit over goal and can't afford to pay for the
meetings. My total weight loss to goal is 83 pounds.

Since reaching goal I've been up and down in weight and gone
through a lot of life changes. One thing I've learned over
the years is that for me to maintain my weight loss I have
to eat balanced, sensible meals and maintain an activity
level which keeps me busy. It isn't always easy to do, but
of all the major weight loss programs to choose from I still
    believe in Weight Watchers.

So anyhow, that's a bit about myself. I'm encouraged and
inspired by the postings I've read here. Keep up the
    good work!

    - Fred

  2. Whoops! Just noticed there's already another Fred here!
Although I'm probably older he was here first, so I'll be
    Fred the Second.

    - Fred #2

  3. First, congratulations on your success with the program.
Balanced sensible meals and also importantly, reasonable
snacking between those balanced meals are necessary.

Second - You are going to have to change your name (G)

  10. Fred, Catherine, Diane, Lee, Mom, Laura, Krys, Julie, and
    all the rest,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I only have about fifteen
pounds to go before I'm a "freebie" again, and that
shouldn't be too long. I don't really keep track of the
maintenance week number but thought I'd calculate it out for
    the shock value!

I originally lost the weight to keep from being kicked out
of the military; I was caught on a random weigh-in back in
'93 and put on the fat-boy program. Weight Watchers saved my
career, and I was able to continue on and earn my
    retirement.

Since my retirement in 1999 I've slowly put some pounds back
on and I realize I need the feedback and support of Weight
Watchers to successfully maintain my goal weight. So, its
back on the program for me.

  12. You are definitely OLDER in the program. But I don't know
about the real chronological timeframe. As I wrote the
other day. I'm closer to 60 than to 50 and may even be
closer to 60 than 55!!!! (I refuse to calculate fractions
    at the moment!)

It sounds like you are again motivated and that is a big
part of it - besides doing it. So good luck dropping those

You may be right about the chronological time. I'm just five
months away from being able to order from the back page of
the Denny's menu (or from being sixteen years older than
Jack Benny) if that gives you clues.

    Thanks for the welcome!
