  1. Is it just me or are the mail order lot losing the plot?

The last month or so have seen me place 8/9 orders with a variety of
companies, and so far 5 of the orders have been messed up.

2 have missed items from the order (Merlin and Woolly Hat Shop)
2 have sent the wrong things (Merlin and Wiggle)
1 has sent a faulty item (which admittedly probably wasn't their fault
so I won't name them - but it still p****d me off)

I'm getting well annoyed having to stand in a post office queue all
lunch time to send stuff back.

    Bah.

    Ian.

I've never had any problems with Parker International. I tend to just stick to
them for that reason so can't comment on the rest.

Parker are always good becuase when you ring them up you get to speak to people
who clearly cycle and understand cycling.

Don't get me wrong, perl is an OK operating system, but it lacks a

I recently dealt with woolly hat shop (via ebay) and they sent
completely the wrong item despite having all the usual ebay receipts and
so on for the item they were auctioning. Not impressive.

I've been waiting nearly a month for a couple of chainrings and a chain :-(

I'm told they are in the post today.

    Bah.

    Ian.

I've had 5 or 6 in the past 2 weeks all delivered as soon as practically
possible on free postage(2 from wiggle) and am expecting a next day from a
gps supplier tomorrow (its with the courier). BOTOH Evans sent me a shipment
with 1 thing wrong (Non matching panniers),and the other thing that was
right, had one of those security tags on it which I had to cut off as I only
discovered it several weeks later and it was too much hassle to take to the
shop ."Hello Mr Security tag, meet Mr Dremmel Multi Tool".
Oh yeh, I also received a dvd yesterday that I ordered on Dec 27th :-)

They also ring you if they thing you've stuffed up an order. I ordered
some glasses last year and added some optical inserts to the order. They
phoned to tell me that the inserts were included with the glasses and so
unless I really wanted a spare set I could save some money.

I've ordered stuff from Wiggle, Gearshift, Settle & Chain Reaction recently.
No problems with any of it save that the cleaners resolute decline to chuck
out the Giant Economy Size Chain Reaction box next to my desk...

    <rant>

What really annoys me is that some of the mistakes are so obvious - all
they have to do is actually read the order slip they all chuck into the
box (Merlin managed to miss off the forks from an order for a frame and
fork package, then they custom built a set of silver wheels when I
    ordered black).

    and another thing.....

....why do I always feel like a criminal when I phone them up to chase
    the parts/get a refund.

    Bah x2.

  11. Had a problem with Wiggle and complained. The item wasn't sent or
didn't arrive and they told to take it up with my post office. Post
Office handed me a form to send to Wiggle. Once Wiggle realised they
had paperwork to fill in, the item mysteriously landed on my doormat
    the very next day.

Also I've had problems with Recorded Delivery and the post offices
"casual staff". Most of the recorded delivery is bulky and won't go
through the letterbox, so they have to knock. Well I work nights and
most times I miss them, but they are kind enough to leave said item on
doorstep. Without getting it signed for, despite a sign on door stating
that if they get no answer from here, deliver next door. This is
because I'm good friends with my neighbour.
