I'm finding it difficult to find a cycling magazine to my liking. The CTC
house-rag is OK but I want something to read each month. I've taken Cycling
Plus for years, but I'm getting bored with it's inexorable drift towards
roadie-ism. It's weighted nowadays towards really quite esoteric stuff on
nutrition and training (sprinting tips, anyone?).I'm not a mountain biker, but I'm not a roadie either. I'm a very occasional
audax rider who simply likes to get out on his bike. I've got four bikes, so
I'm not that interested in new bike reviews. What I need is excuses and
inspiration to ride more, day rides, places to visit, etc. There was once a magazine that was apparently put together in a shed by the
cycling wing of Wogan's TOG's, which although a little elderly in its
outlook covered quite a few of my interests, but it folded (was it called
Cycling Today?)Does anyone have any suggestions as to a magazine? And what would _you_ like
to see more of in the cycling press?Best Regards
Budstaff
Yes I am tending to agree with you about C+,I have taken it for a few
years but like you there are large parts of it I am not interested in
and these parts seem to be increasing. You can only buy so many £2000
gold plated titanium road bikes.
There is a relatively new mag out which seemed to fit the bill but I can
be buggered if I can remember its name.I tried to order a copy online
with perhaps a subscription to follow but the ordering process was a
mess and they didn't seem to care so I have it up as a bad job.
There was a mag called On Your Bike which I used to get but this
eventually went over to be a mountain bike publication so I gave that up.
There is of course VeloVision which is always a good read but that is
only quarterly.
In browsing Google for this post I have come across Cycling World.Never
heard of it before.
