    It's on again this weekend at a new venue - Melbourne's annual MAD Ride. The
    24th staging of this great day ride is at a new venue in Woodend. Three
    routes to choose from: 60 km road ride, 110 km road ride and 65 km MTB
    route. Route details can be found at www.mbtc.org.au

    It's not too late to get involved in this ride. Entries are being taken on
    the day, Sunday 23rd, just come along to the starting point at the Buffalo
    Sports Stadium in Tylden Rd Woodend.

    Routes open at 8.30 am. Bring a few basic spares and tools, some lunch, and
    be sure to get started before 10.00 am. Parking is available at the venue.

    not a bad neck of the woods for riding.

    still bit miffed about MBTC's choice of paying for something v getting something for free tho. oh well, good luck to 'em 🙄

    I can only guess that this may be a reference to paying for a ride that is
    run on public roads, that you could ride without having to pay. Well, aren't
    all supported rides like that (eg. ATBID by BV)?

    MBTC's MAD Ride is an experience, to which many riders frequently return.
    Payment gives you the signed route, marshalls, map, morning tea, WICEN and
    St Johns support, as well as the companionship of many other riders. I think
    that's a fair deal for a quite low entry fee. YMMV and you're free to ride
    around the Woodend roads on any day you like. Even April 23rd if you want to
    be a miserly prat. Some do this, but don't expect MBTC members to get you
    out of a pickle. >🙁

    Last year someone from mbtc approached me if i was interesting in quoting to do their design work for the MAD ride as their regualr designer is/was on maternity leave (i think they said). Recieved written brief via email, asking for pricings.
    I offered to do it for free. Didnt hear back. Fair nuff. Whatever.
    But the wierd part was I got a very formal letter in the mail months later informing me my 'quote' was not successful this time, but thanks.
    Obviously I needed to throw in a bag of snakes as well! 😄

    Same offer still stands for future events, if you have the intestinal fortitude 🙄
