I wouldn't say that. I was in Ireland three years ago and it was very
beautiful. Especially the women walking about out on the mall in
Dublin. Best time I've had outside of this country. You can't compare
200 year old history to 1000+ year old history. I can't wait to go back
(maybe next year for some MTB there and a ride across Scottland).

Ok, i'm not that far down south, i'm up north actually. I used to live in
England and I just really miss the riding over there, it's hard to put my
finger on what it is, but I DO miss riding in Wiltshire. Do a google for
the Ridgeway in England, ( I used to do most my riding there.) The villages
over in that part of England are like the Olde Wurlde villages, It's that
kinda scenery I miss. *sigh*

Above the Mason Dixon makes north. And I'm not
talking the rock band .

And there was somebody on here who did a tour of German castles or some
such. And the guys from Wales have some interesting scenery too...kinda
wet & foggy, but interesting nonetheless. 😉

Well, the scenery is pretty good here in New Zealand. Pity that the
trails aren't the best. Still, what can you expect when you've only had
a handful of people trampling over the mountains for less than 200
years? You need hundreds over hundreds of years to develop some decent
well-worn trails... <sigh> Having said that, you can find some pretty
nice rides if you look and the scenery IS pretty fantastic.

I'm confused. Where exactly are you now?

Anyway, nice as the stuff in the US is, there's certainly stuff in Europe
to rival it.

No, I don't live in Wales (any more) though I feel for the locals as often
they find themselves unable to get household insurance after such an event.
Certainly this is the second time this has happened in Conwy in 12 months or
so. Wales is a wonderful place and well worth a visit. Especially with a
bike.
