Nothing. Buy shorts that fit. I did once get chaffing of some cheap
shorts. Once they'd gone in the bin, all was well.

That said, others swear by Assos Chamois cream.

Endura 8 panel shorts and have not had to use any creams etc. _except for
the sun_

I use Sudocrem on every ride, and clean area with surgical spirit after
a shower.

I've been on more than 45 bike tours in my time and can tell
you without any doubt that sooner or later your tour will be
ruined by a boil or a pimple where it hurts, unless you
use vaseline or similar.
A friend (a stubborn Englishman..is there another kind?? ;>😉)
used to say.. I don't use Vaseline, and then we had to listen
to his whinging on tours about the volcanoes on his [censored].
Eventually he succumbed and to this date, his nether regions have
been the least of his problems on tours!!!

I'm one of them! i've tried others but Assos is the most comfortable and if
you have any spots heals them fast. (it also works well for salt water sores
aka gunnel-bum!)

I tried the sudocrem once - it worked OK but I haven't had to use anything
for ages.

Another vote for assos. Wonderful stuff for the longer rides, and has
the additional benefit of occasionally a draft finding it's way in will
produce a wonderful cooling effect (obviously this is of maximum benefit
in summer!) that w/out assos just doesn't happen.

They do fit and they're not cheap, I just seem to suffer from chaffing
with lots of my clothes...

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I tried googling for Bodyglide
as I'd heard it's quite good as well. Since I'm going to need something
that will stand up to swim, cycle and run I thought I'd check it out.

google.com turns up loads of US sites selling it, google.co.uk just lists
loads of sex toy websites. Anyone know where you can get it in the UK so
I can compare prices etc.

It's an affliction of sailors (usually racing) caused by sitting on the edge
of the boat with your feet hanging over the edge - the gunnel- for hours on
end. Just add salt water or sweat or condensation to create a nasty rash
which is very uncomfortable and if it gets infected produces nasty boils.
