    I find this interesting:

    NO-GUILT FOOD?

Scientists in the Netherlands are developing a new generation of foods that
make people eat less. The Top Institute Food and Nutrition also is
developing ingredients that can stop an obese person from developing
diabetes. The foods are supposed to trigger feelings of fullness.

Foods that make people eat less... that trigger feelings of fullness...
like, maybe, eggs, cheese, tuna with mayo? And a big hamburger patty with a
dollop of thousand island? You mean like that? LOL.

Actually, I just bought some *Magic Icecream*... makes me eat far less of
    it. Called...

    CarbSmart. Yep.

I recently fed my grandson the last, small, icy portion left in my previous
carton of CarbSmart vanilla, 'cause he was agitating for dessert (he's 4)
and that's all I had. It had been sitting there for like a month. He said it
was good. That would NEVER happen with Ben & Jerry's or any other brand of
sugar-containing ice cream, which would be gone in a day or two. Even though
I do like the CarbSmart just fine. It just doesn't set off cravings and
    overeating.

Well, and I guess low carb foods in general help keep obese folks from
    developing diabetes, don't they?

Well, maybe those Dutch scientists are looking for carby or dessert foods
with the same properties as our low-carb staples?

I'm afraid that will be the end result. Based on past history... remember
the Snackwell trend during the low-fat craze. Those didn't work. Remember
all the myriad lc foods developed during the recent low-carb frenzy...
    mostly imploded now.

Though, there are a few useful survivors for which I am VERY grateful. The
CarbSmart ice creams for one, and also Heinz lc catsup, which is very good.
Oh, and the Mt. Olive sugarfree pickle relish (not that it was that big a
deal to add a few drops of liquid sf sweetener to plain old dill pickle
relish). And lc bake mix, which I use occasionally. I usually have some sf
maple syrup around, too. Other than that, regular food seems to be best.

I recently tried Atkins breakfast bars for my court day lunches, whcn I may
be in hearings all day and often don't have time to even eat lunch. Boy, did
they trigger cravings! Back to nuts and cheese and a couple Wasa crackers
with a Diet Coke from the machines (if I remember to bring change)..

    HG.

No kidding! I bought some of these things once and nearly ate an entire box
before I realized what I was doing! They don't work for me. Frankly, I
think they are worst than a regular candy bar for me because I'd NEVER
consider even buying more than one, let alone eating more than one.

I've never done the Wasa crackers....they seem too HC for me....can't eat
    just one, either.

my problems must run deeper because i can't control myself with the
    sugar-free stuff either.

a few months back I had a week long binge-fest on fat free/sugar free
chocolate Jello Pudding ( i mean I ate ate least one full package worth of
pudding daily , some days multiple packs worth - forget the 8 serving per
    box LOL)

🙁 but hey - that's why I've been yo-yoing for 4 years and am back here with
    50 lbs to lose
