  1. Hi Folks,

Tonight after 2 hours at the gym of weight lifting and cardio workout,
I came home craving something very cold like ice-cream.

I got 3 fresh lemons from tree, pealed the skin and removed the seeds.
Placed them in blender as is. Added 7 splendas, carbonated water,
    and lots of ice.

Blended until the ice got as soft as sand.

That made 4 large glasses of delicious very low carb smoothie.

Next time I'll add low carb fruit such as berries. However, berries
are hardly fresh as their season is very limited. Lemons are year-round
    on my trees.

    Try it and enjoy.

Have you tried some of that liquid splenda that is really a syrup base? With
it, ou won't get the added carbs from the filler in the splenda, meaning you
can just get them from the LC fruit (berries, etc.).

  3. Hi Roger,

I've never seen liquid splenda. It has ZERO carbs?

    This is a first.

    J.

Liquid Splenda is available in the UK. Splenda currently doesn't have
any plans in releasing the same product here in the USA. There's a
filler for bulk in grainulated Splenda, thus the reason for the carbs.
I got this info from my 500 Low Carb Recipes cookbook. 😉

It's technically not liquid splenda...it is liquid splenda (sucralose) cut
with carbs and since splenda is so very sweet, just a tiny amount in water
still results in something very sweet. Yes, it has zero carbs.

  7. It does go a long way, although I think that the equivalents are a bit
askew: they claim 1 drop = 1.5 teaspoons of sugar. However, I used to use
4-6 drops in my coffee. That would be equivalent to 6-9 teaspoons of
sugar. While I haven't had sugar in my coffee for ages (and I'm back to
unsweetened coffee), I think I'd gag if I had 6 teaspoons of sugar in
    there.

  8. Oh, goodness, I use two drops in a large mug of tea, any more than that
    would be way too sweet.

The stuff I buy is here:

    http://locarbsyrup.com/

I wonder how they compare. I kinda like it to be not too concentrated,
though, because then if some extra spills out whatever you're putting into
    won't be way too sweet.

  10. I have both and the syrup is about 1/4 the strength of the sweetzfree. I
use the syrup when I want to sweeten something like some strawberries as it
is easier to just squirt on them, but I use the sweetzfree in things like
tea, it's pretty easy to let just a couple of drops out, you don't want to
squeeze the bottle, just tilt it to let the drops fall. I bought the syrup
over a year ago and the sweetzfree last February and still have lots of both
    left.
