It's minerals from your high quality mineral water. Clean the kettle by
simmering a 50/50 mix of tap water & white vinegar. Rinse several time, and
brew something. If during that first brewing, you see scale, something's
probably wrong with the kettle.

What's the inside of the kettle made of? Stainless steel? Ceramic stuff?

You are using mineral water. The more minerals in the water, the
greater the amount of scale.

Use a water filter, such as Brita.

Hmm...... mineral water....... it has minerals in it. Maybe the reason you
have a problem with mineral build-up in your kettle is that you are using
water with more minerals in it. Try using tap water. Even hard water has
less minerals in it than mineral water.

do you think consuming scale(i.e.visible minerals) from boiled mineral
water pose more danger to creating kidney stones than drinking the
same water(i.e.microsopic minerals) unboiled from the bottle? wouldnt
scale get routed through a different path on their way out in the
body?

Don't even waste energy thinking about it. There are no doctors here, but
you have a doctor you can get that information from.

Go buy a gallon jug of white vinegar. Every couple of weeks, put a cup of
vinegar in the coffee maker and fill the rest with water. Cycle it once,
then twice more with plain water.
