  1. has anybody had a problem with their skin not bouncing back? id like
to hear from folks that have lost around 100-150lbs especially, since i
had that much to go and ive already lost half of it. does the skin
ever go back to looking semi normal? any advice for stretch marks too?

    good.

for me, so skin in some places went back to normal (which really I can't
remember it ever being normal but it looks mostly normal). But in other
places there are noticable amounts of extra skin.

the answer for you will be it depends, though. if you're very young your
chances are better. If you're older...well, be ready to deal....

I can't say for 100+ lbs, but with a 60+ weight loss, my skin snapped back
fine. I was late 30s when I lost the weight, w/ very thin, fair
(Irish/German) skin. For a while I had some looseness, but it tightened up
before I could get too worried about it.

The fats in the diet are very, very good for your skin.

  5. Well, I had the surgeon tell me yesterday that if you have stretch
marks the skin will not snap back in those areas and if you wdont have
stretch marks it probably will snap back. Once you have stretched it it
is like an old rubberband, it will just be there.

My stretch marks are standing up, instead of being stretched! Very odd. The
skin underneath seems to be going back in place. I'm 44, but have only lost
    about 33 pounds.

I decided to lose weight around Feb. '03. Through rigorous exercise and
strict dieting I managed to lose half my weight, approx. 170lbs, a year later.
Lost a lot of weight sure, but probably lots of muscle too since I was doing
mostly cardio exercises. But anyway, yes I did have a lot of loose skin. It
hung on me like my old XXL shirts. But I've heard you should give your skin a
year or so to bounce back and nearly a year later I have to say my skin has
tightened up quite noticeably, but my many stretch marks still remain, battle
scars I suppose heh. I heard weight training may help some, which I've been
concentrating on for the past 6 mos. or so. But in any case, good luck!

  9. wow great job hamburger. thanks for all the replies. i have another
100lbs to go and already lost 80, so i was on the heavy side when i
started lol... youre really making me hopeful. i have a lot of
stretchmarks, and i wont have the money for a body lift, so i hope im
as lucky as you are. (would i really consider a body lift even if i
    had the money? hmm..)
