  1. Hi everyone,

I am a student in IYTE (www.iyte.edu.tr). If possible would you please
write the comparisons between OXO peeler and other peelers. Does this
    handle of OXO really works?

    Thanks to everyone

Spoken like a true MoM. OP: Peel ten pounds of root vegetables with an
OXO peeler then another ten pounds with a metal handled peeler. The
    differance should be clear.

Then boil up an industrial sized pot of soup for all the students in
    your largest class.

    How's this for starters-
"The OXO peeler is different from other peelers as it is made by OXO
and other peelers are made by others." Kev

I have a nice thick metal handled veggie peeler. It is quite nice for
peeling carrots and I know it cost a pretty penny. Honestly I still
prefer a small knife to peel most vegetables.

I prefer the wide type with the horizontal blade for carrots
and sometimes swede, but like you, I usually prefer a small
    paring knife.

The handle of the OXO is lousy for peeling vegetables. One must use the
blade of the peeler for that.

For some reason, I decided that I would augment my decades old Ecco
peeler with one that had a thick black handle (looking for better grip
for hands that hurt, I guess). I don't think I ended up with OXO, it
was probably a Cooks Choice, which seems a more likely choice based on
what's on the racks at my grocery stores. Anyway, although the grip
is nice, the blade cuts way too deep... so I went back to my Ecco.
I'm thinking that the next time I try to buy a vegetable peeler, I'll
bring along a potato or apple and test it on the spot to see what kind
    of a "bite" it has.

You got me there, I usually buy 2 peelers at a time, one
will disappear almost immediately and the backup will
stick around a couple years. Maybe. I guess they wind up
in that place where teaspoons & socks disappear to.
