Atherton Tablelands - 25 knot SE winds, so what do we do? We choose to do a
90 kms ride right into them! Fortuneately we know some great little farm
roads that kept us off the main highway for most of our ride from Atherton
to Innnot Hot Springs, an obscure little siding with a pub, thermal springs
and a camp ground.
It was with great delight we got there in one piece, still smiling and not
totally exhausted! Finally we are fit enough to think of other things beside
tired and aching bodies and sore bums!
The road trains and the caravans were a bit of a bother today coming home,
but hey you cant have everything 🙂
Lets hope when ER goes her long weekend doesnt go with her!
Ride a bike today? Nope. The sort of Melbourne weather that brings out
the old tradition of wiping the seats at the footy.

Not too sure why we in WA have to be different, but any long weekend is a
good one. But on a better subject, we loved living (house sitting on top of
the hill) up there in Atherton (Oct02-Apr03) when we did our round Oz bike
ride(Nov01-Sep04), and loved the bit out to IHS and beyond. Fabulous
memories of a wonderful area, and a fabulous ride around Oz. Road trains
were interesting then as well
:-)

yeah, the closest I got to the bike today was to replace a missing spoke on
the MTB...

So....:-) A couple of us went from Essendon to Macedon, Mt. Macedon,
Woodend, Lancefield and back home - an imperial century. The getting
to Lancefield is best not remembered - COLD, wet and BLOODY W I N D Y !!
The tailwind from Lancefield to Tulla airport was much appreciated
as was the hot shower, cold beer and hot piza when we got back.

Maybe because _last_ weekend was our foundation day holiday?
And it was a great weekend for cycling too. Mild temperatures, and
plenty of time to dry out between the odd showers.

Well, I wheeled a couple of bikes into the kitchen while I cleaned up
the spare room and rearranged the house in general. Other than that, I
had a party-priority w/e 🙂
