Long pants under leg armor?

I either ride with shorts and leg armor or with pants with the armor
underneith. I have tried to ride with my 661s on the outside but it wont
let my pants bend so my legs get sort of stiff. Also when you put the
armor over your pants and its hot your pant leg get soaked in sweat.

I've thought about that too. I figure if you wear shorts and armor, its
just as warm if not warmer as just wearing long pants, so you wont get
cold in the fall/winter. In the summer you'll usually wear shorts
anyway...
If I wore pants, I'd probally not wear armor, because they would at
least protect from pedal scratches, wich is all I usually get anyway.
Armor on top of pants is really restricting, and hotter. And looks
funny.🙂

the problem with pants: too sweaty and restricting

the problem with shorts: they ride up and then you just look gay

solution: 3/4 pants + guards... When you ride, they come up to about
just below your knees, and cover just the top of the pads... so it looks
pretty good.

very long shorts is the way to do it.

I agree with llama man, really long shorts that come down to below your
knees...so they cover like the top half or quarter of the leg guard
while you're standing, and a little less while you're riding. wearing
the armour over the pants looks kinda funny, in my not so humble
opinion....it's all poofed out at the top and at the bottom, and it's
just funky lookin. wearing them under long pants though works very
well.

I won't vote in this poll even though my voting option is in it...

My armour always goes on bare skin. If it freezes I will wear long
pants, but they have wideish sleeves which I will pull up so that they
sit (creased) above my 4x4's.

I also wear my leg armour * under* my pants. I have tried with shorts,
too, but I have none that are long enough. If I shall ride with shorts,
they would need to be long enough to cover below my knees.

if it's hot or just not super cold i usually wear shorts. most my shorts
are pretty long though, and don't leave too much thigh showing. in the
winter if it's above ~40F i'll just wear shorts. if it's colder than
that though i wear the armour under or over my pants depending on what
pants i'm wearing. some pants just work better under the armour, some
won't fit over, i generally prefer armour on skin but with some pants
that's not possible, and i think it's warmed with the pants under, so if
it's super cold i'll do that.

Shorts + Armor (usually long shorts, but depends on what's clean), and
in the winter I wear thin snowpants underneath (when it's below 0F...
Otherwise I just wear the shorts & pads 🙂)

I don't like the way it look with armor over the pants so I ride with
armor underneith my pants or my shorts

But with your the color of your shin pads and the color of your pants it
looks ok for me

There are BMX and skate pants/jeans that are designed to fit over knee
pads. The legs are larger around and have extra room around the knee.

Check for pants at a shop that sells skater clothing. Or ask a bike
shop that sells BMX bikes where you can go buy pants that will allow you
to wear knee pads or leg armor under the pants.

You don't want the full on baggy style because you don't want the crotch
of the pants hanging down low. A low sagging crotch would get in the
way of the unicycle seat. The pants for the BMXers generally don't do
the sagging crotch style because they would have the same issue with the
pants getting hung up on the seat.
