Well streetmap and multimap work just fine .. start from a map of
'Church Stretton' and pan West. You can even have 1:25k (if you want
1:25k, then get-a-map works fine too) which shows all the footpaths.

There are dozens of walks possible up there (and that's just the ROWs ..
with Open Access you can now kill yourself in all sorts of previously
illegal places). The bog-standard walks tend to start from Carding Mill
valley (mind the rip off parking charge), and last time I was there they
were reasonably well marked and trodden.

The more adventurous can drive up and park on top (for heaven's sake go
up from the Church Stretton end though - that way your car is as far as
possible from the somewhat scary drop! - back down the SW end, down past
the gliding club, for the same reason).

The walk from Church Stretton over the mynd to Stiperstones and
back again has a half-decent pub at Bridges on the way. All the
hallmarks of a classic country walk :-) There's also campsite at
Bridges.

Some other alternatives.

Go up Ashes Hollow at Little Stretton, over the to Bridges, round to
Ratllinghope and then back up to the ridge. You can then come back directly
down or go via. All Stretton, or back through Little Stretton (to campsite
and pub),

Start at Craven Arms and follow the Shropshire Way up onto the Mynd. At Pole
Bank check how much time you have (and how much energy). You could drop down
to Bridges and back.

While Church Stretton to Stiperstones is a great walk it might be better in
summer for someone who is not sure about distance.

That being said I hope to do one of these walks on Sunday!

That's a nice walk, but you need to understand that it's ~5 miles from
Craven Arms to the SW end of the Mynd (Rabbit Warren) .. and another 5
miles back. If you actually want to spend time on the Mynd rather than
rambling through Shropshire in general it's probably better to start
closer.

Craven Arms also has to rate as one of South Shropshire's least
attractive towns (sorry!), although there is (free) parking all over the
place.

Cleobury Mortimer, Ludlow, Bridgnoorth, Bishops Castle or even Church
Stretton. Thats not hard.

Still not a bad place to fetch up if you are into walking.

Much like the whole area. Ditton Priors is the other one. It's only
purpose is to get to the Clee Hills from the north.

Remember it was a failed Crewe. A new railway town tacked on to
Stokesay. Anywhere with Stokesay Castle cannot be bad.
