midrif. Now I find myself having to say it about men. Where is this
world heading?

If you're going to start passing comment on what other people choose to
wear, you're heading for the Taleban, and Morality Police peering down
the front of your draws in the street to check that you've shaved your
pubes. Oh - and women being stoned to death for going out of the house
without precisely the right degree of skin covered.

What people choose to wear is entirely up to them and no-one else's
busines. That applies just as much to midriffs as to bibshorts.

Have to say I was rather surprised yesterday (TV channel-hopping when the
cricket was rained off) to suddenly see 2 women wearing swimming costumes
with VERY high-cut legs and riding bikes at some speed .... they had their
names in large letters across their bottoms (fortunately both had short
names, so they fitted the small expanse of material) It seems that it was a
report of the London Triathlon held the week before.

Seriously, and more intriguing, was the fact that they dismounted from the
bikes (for the run phase) and left their shoes attached to the pedals

If the bike's name-tagged, I suppose it's easier to get your shoes back at
the end.

Common practise in Tri. Running in cleated shoes is not easy trust me,
and the floor suface in the Excel was particularly slippery with
limited matting. It's also slightly quicker because you can slip your
feet out of the shoes as you slow down prior to dismount. The shoes
are left attached to the bike when racked, it means that in the
swim-bike transition (T1), you can put your feet into the shoes on the
move. Note that most Triathletes use shoes that fastenw ith one velcro
strap...it woould be a bugger doing up laces :-)

Correspondent that I heard. I couldn't find a reference last time I tried to

Ugh... but I should think that's very much a minority sport.

What I actually thought the OP meant was that men commonly stand in
the shower in the morning shaving their pubes, in the same way as some
women shave their legs 🙂
