Quite. David is getting a rapid Brompton education.
Tuesday. David struggles to dismantle full-size touring bike and put it
into bike bag. Bike bag seems almost impossible to lift. We're going
away Saturday and taking: my suitcase, my wheelchair, his bike, his
case. I lose sleep over how we'll cope.
Wednesday. David is still asleep when I order Brompton online from
BikePlus. They ring me back confirming order and waking David who is NOT
PLEASED! David states he'll manage bike bag OK and that we don't need a
new bike. Says he'll have nothing to do with Brompton. I tell him I can
flog it at minmal loss, if needed.
Thursday. Bike arrives, in much cardboard. I struggle to remove
cardboard, and to remove tape from cardboard so it can be collected for
composting. Discover bike cover I ordered is absent, so phone BikePlus,
who put said item in post.
Unfold and wheel Brompton in hall & kitchen.
Teach David how to fold, unfold, fold, unfold in ten minutes before I
catch bus to go to CTC Committee meeting.
David decides to use Brompton to go to play in Harrow and quite likes
it! Hasn't quite got the hang of folding & unfolding yet. Brompton has
excited some curious interest and proved useful when David was offered a
lift home.
Friday. David has agreed to take Brompton to France...
I must pack soon...
